PONDA: Dairy farmer Ramesh Naik, Chairman of Curtorim Milk Society affiliated to Goa Dairy, has filed a complaint with the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS), urging the removal of all disqualified Board of Directors (BoDs) from their positions as Chairpersons of the respective Milk Societies attached to Goa Dairy. He further demanded the recovery of Rs 4.5 crore from former dairy officials responsible for scams in Goa Dairy. Naik warned that if no action is taken within next 15 days by the RCS, he would approach the High Court.
In April of this year, the RCS, following court directions, disqualified approximately 14 present and past directors after conducting an investigation into mismanagement at Goa Dairy. Among these disqualified individuals, seven were sitting BoDs of Goa Dairy. Consequently, the RCS appointed a three-member committee to oversee the management of Goa Dairy.
Naik’s complaint emphasizes the need for the RCS to implement its own order. He highlighted that the disqualified BoDs of Goa Dairy continue to hold the position of chairperson in the milk societies attached to Goa Dairy, despite their disqualification from the BoDs. He insisted that they should be removed from their positions as chairpersons of the respective milk societies.
Naik also held a former Managing Director and several officials responsible for the scam that occurred in Goa Dairy in the past, estimating its value at approximately Rs 4.5 crore. He asserted that this money should be recovered from these officials, and criminal complaints should be filed against them.
To recap, in April, the RCS disqualified around 14 past and present BoDs of Goa Dairy, as well as some former officials, due to mismanagement. Among the disqualified individuals were seven present BoDs of Goa Dairy. Subsequently, the RCS dissolved the Board and appointed a three-member Administrative Committee to oversee the affairs of the Goa Dairy.
