Dairy farmers upset at fodder price hike

Demand roll back of hike or increase milk rate by Rs 4 per liter

BICHOLIM: Dairy farmers have expressed great displeasure over the rise in fodder cost and have demanded with the Goa Dairy to increase rate of milk by Rs 4 per liter. 
Addressing a press conference here, the dairy farmers said that there has been sudden increase in the cost of fodder by Rs 4 and thus they feel that they would incur loss. 
“We demand that this increase in the cost of fodder should be rolled back or Goa Dairy should increase the cost of milk by another Rs 4,” dairy farmer Pramid Siddhaye said. 
They said that because of several challenges dairy farming is becoming difficult and if there is rise in fodder cost they would suffer. 
They have urged the chief minister to look into the matter and roll back the increase.
