PONDA: Students at anganwadi in Tamsodo, Dharbandora boycotted classes due to a damp and unfit classroom floor, posing health risks.
Unhappy that their children were forced to sit on a damp floor, the parents held a meeting and decided not to send their children to the anganwadi until a safer place is provided as they fear that the damp floor may cause them health problems including cold and fever.
The incessant rains caused the floor to become damp, affecting around 25 children.
The parents warned authorities that they will keep their children home until suitable premises are arranged.
The officials of Child and Welfare Department have made efforts to temporarily shift students to a high school premises, however it is learnt that the parents have objected to the temporary arrangement.
Dharbandora Deputy Collector Nilesh Diagodkar said that has taken cognisance of the issue and has discussed it with the stakeholders.
He assured the parents to find a solution at the earliest.
