PANJIM: The Calangute BJP MLA?Michael Lobo has warned to rebel if his government allows dance bars in the state. “We will rebel if anyone gives permission to dance bars,” Lobo said.
Meanwhile, Lobo told media today that he was pushing for a three seasons licence for 80% plus 10% of the winners of the shacks lottery while 10% should get a season’s license.
Speaking to media on the sidelines of industrialist’s interaction with the chief minister, Lobo said that he had held interactions with those who run shacks and would be having further talks with them.
He said that the license would be given for one season but the same person would be allowed to run the shacks for three seasons even though the fees and other charges would be collected season wise.
“I prefer that 80% of the shacks be given to people residing on the coastal belt,” Lobo told media.
When asked about the recent statements of his party colleague, a minister accusing a senior policeman of acting like a goon and raiding rave parties and blaming him for the drop in tourists, the MLA refused to comment merely saying that he was against drugs being sold on the coastal belt and he would ensure that police acted against them and that there was vigil along the Calangute-Candolim-Baga belt.
