PANJIM: The much awaited Datsun ‘Go’ was launched in Goa through A M Ventures who are the sole sales, service and spare providers for Nissan and now Datsun cars in Goa.
Datsun cars will be retailed through the existing Nissan dealer network which has a presence in Verna and Porvorim in Goa. The first lot of Datsun Go’s was delivered at the 3S facility of A M Nissan, Verna who is the mother brand.
First customers Gajanan Tilu Naik, Avduth Angle, Dr P N Velingkar, Suchana P Kankonkar, Ramchandra Manerkar, Maria Ethel Diniz and Alex Braganza received their new Datsun ‘Go’ at the hands of Prashant Joshi, MD Goa Motors Pvt Ltd also (President of Goa Automobile Dealers Association) and Nitin Kuncolienkar (MD SmartLink Network Systems Pvt. Ltd). Gajanan Tilu Naik is also a proud owner of a Datsun Bluebird, a popular car from the Portuguese era.
The Datsun ‘Go’ starting at 3.12 lakh marks the revival of the legendary Datsun brand in India. The Datsun ‘Go’ is targeted primarily at first time vehicle buyers and offers an exciting package of technology and superior driving experience backed by the legendary Datsun engineering capabilities.
The new Datsun Go is available in three variants – D, A and T – and in four colours. The base D trim, priced at Rs 3.12 lakh, is available in two versions, D and D1. The standard features include follow-me-home headlamps, a digital trip computer, gear shift guide, engine immobiliser and a speed-sensitive wiper. Power steering, front power windows and central locking, however, are only available on the top T trim.
The middle A trim, priced at 3.42 lakh, gets air conditioning and a two-speaker audio system with only aux-in compatibility, a mobile phone stand, a USB port for charging only and Jacquard seat upholstery. The top-end Go T, priced at Rs 3.69 lakh, has all the features of the middle A variant and additionally gets front power windows, electric power steering, body-coloured bumpers, central locking and wheel covers. The top-end Go is priced at Rs 3.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Go is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, and Datsun claims an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency figure of 20.63kpl. This is the largest engine capacity in the segment and customers can look forward to an unmatched driving experience with the ‘Go’. The Go comes with complimentary road-side assistance and2-year unlimited km warranty. Customers in Goa can book the Go from AM Datsun located at plot 49/3, Nagoa Verna and the sales outlet located at Supreme by the woods, Porvorim, Goa.
