MARGAO: Investigations into the houses at Davorlim that have allegedly been built on agricultural land have revealed that Forms 1 and 14 of the said property state that the land cannot be sold, transferred, gifted or leased without the prior approval of the Mamlatdar.
Addressing reporters on Friday, Anthony Barbosa, Vice-President of BJP Morcha and local Sarpanch Herculano Niasso warned former minister Manohar Ajgaonkar not to interfere in the matter and not to anchorage illegalities.
Defending the stand taken by the panchayat body, Anthony said the panchayat cannot issue house numbers when the documents of the property itself prove that the structures are illegal.
