MARGAO: The Davorlim panchayat and the residents of Zariwado have expressed anger and fear over the manner in which the COVID-19 infected patients are being handled. The neighborhood is alarmed as a person with travel history was tested and declared positive after five days and people had no idea whatsoever.
On Wednesday, the local panch and deputy sarpanch of Davorlim Deepak Mangalam said that the government and Health Ministry needs to increase their testing facilities; and that the reports of the tested persons need to be given soon so that the infected persons don’t mingle around into the society.
Deepak told “The infected person came from Pune and was tested five days back. After calling the health officials five days later, the person discovered that he was positive. Please provide the reports soon and make sure that you don’t call the infected person himself to pick up the reports,” Deepak added.
The Davorlim panchayat has requested that the local government to inform them about the cases in their locality so that utmost care is taken to make sure that the person stays home.
