Double concern for Smriti Mandhana with fiancé Palash Muchhal now hospitalised

Indian women’s ODI World Cup 2025 winner Smriti Mandhana’s fiancé, Palash Muchhal, was rushed to hospital after his health deteriorated. According to a reports he was admitted to a private facility after experiencing complications due to a viral infection and increased acidity. The report added that his condition had stabilised, and he would return to the hotel after receiving treatment.

The development came a day after Mandhana’s wedding celebrations were halted when her father suffered a heart attack and had to be taken to hospital urgently. As per reports, he remained under observation and was in a stable condition.

Mandhana’s family doctor, Dr Naman Shah, said that Srinivas Mandhana experienced left-sided chest pain around 1.30 pm, identified as angina. He was shifted to hospital where tests revealed elevated cardiac enzymes, prompting doctors to keep him under monitoring. Blood pressure levels were also high, and angiography would be considered if required. The medical team continued to monitor his condition closely.

Meanwhile, the wedding date is yet to be decided, and the ceremony has been postponed indefinitely.
