Decision on contesting Nuvem must be taken by MLA: CM

MARGAO: The decision to contest the upcoming election in Nuvem constituency on BJP ticket should be taken by MLA Wilfred D’Sa alias Babashan himself and he should express his desire with the party high command, said Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant at Nuvem. 

He also announced that the syllabus with regard to coding and rebooting will be implemented to Class Six from next academic year. 

Speaking to the media persons on the sidelines of the inauguration of the traffic signal at Nuvem, he also said that Central Home Minister Amit Shah and other leaders of BJP will be arriving tomorrow in Goa, and hence Babashan got an opportunity to express his wish.

Sawant in the presence of Babashan and others inaugurated several development projects in Nuvem constituency on the occasion of Nuvem MLAs birthday. 

He further said that the tickets to contest the elections are finalized by the committee appointed at the Centre but Babashan needs to express his wish, if he wants to contest on BJP ticket. 

“My job is to look after the development and betterment of the people and not to decide upon the tickets for elections,” said CM. 

Reacting to the development works he said that not a single project initiated by the MLA will be kept incomplete, and by December 19, all projects will be inaugurated or laying of foundation stone will be done. 

“I want to clear one thing and that is the motive of Babashan joining the BJP government was for overall development of Nuvem constituency, and it will be done. He will complete his development works soon”, said the CM.

After inaugurating the lab at Mae Dos Pobres HS, Sawant said students can move forward through innovation and this can only happen in the schools. 

He also inaugurated development of Gonsua Lake at Betalbatim, construction of multipurpose A/C hall in Nagao, 6 arms and 4 arms lamps in Nuvem, besides construction of football stadium with Futsal ground and hall at Verna.
