PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said a decision on extending the curfew will be taken on Saturday.
He was responding to queries from media persons about the possibility of an extension of the ongoing State-wide curfew which is on till May 24 morning.
“We will review the Covid situation in the State, and by Saturday the government will decide only after holding discussions with the District Collectors, Deputy Collectors, Medical officers and others concerned whether the State curfew should be extended or not,” Sawant said.
The CM also made a public appeal to civil society to come forward in helping run COVID Centres. “I appeal to civil society to lend a helping hand to the government in the fight against #COVID19. If interested to volunteer for setting up or operating an existing governemnt set-up COVID Care Center in the State, you may approach the respective District Collector & apply for the same,” the CM tweeted.
Incidentally, some groups have stated that they had sent applications to start COVID Centres with their respective district collector but their application had not been cleared for more than four days.
