Vasco: There are plans to conduct the trial run for the traffic movement near Dabolim airport via the grade separator, which could happen as early as the first week of January 2020. This was announced by Transport Minister and Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho, who added that a special review meeting had been convened on Monday evening with the officials from multiple departments such as GSIDC, District Collectorate, Transport, Tourism, Traffic Police etc.
In this meeting, the plan of action to get traffic to move via the grade separator and the related changes that would have to be made, were discussed at the meeting. Further,the main focus of the meeting, was about how to streamline traffic movement in and around the airport in view of grade separator, Godinho added.
When asked how long it will take for the grade separator to begin operations, Godinho referred to the suggestions that had been discussed at the meeting and said that the decisions, would take at least a month’s time for it to be put in place.
On a separate issue, Godinho said that he had listened to the grievances of the tourist taxis regarding the Habour cruise terminal and that it was decided that MPT and the Transport department will have a meeting and look into and sort those issues
