SANGUEM: Not finding any teacher at the Government Primary School (GPS) Kumari, Sanguem, Assistant District Educational Inspector (ADEI) Sitaram Naik decided to teach the students till lunchtime on Monday.
ADEI Naik had made a surprise visit to the GPS, Kumari to verify whether the appointed teacher had joined or not. But after seeing no teacher in the school, the ADEI himself took the classes for the students till they were served mid-day meals and then proceeded to GPS Bhati from where the teacher was supposed to join.
Less than a week after the Government Primary School (GPS) at Valkini Sanguem went without a teacher for almost a week, another school in the locality was found without a regular teacher since Friday.
When the ADEI reached GPS Bhati, the ADEI was confronted by parents and the concerned teacher. While parents refused to part with the teacher without due replacement, the concerned teacher refused to join duties at GPS Kumari without written orders.
The teacher from GPS Bhati taught at GPS Kumari till Thursday and stopped taking classes from Friday onwards for want of written orders.
The teacher also made this fact known to the ADEI Sudhakar Naik, given the responsibility entrusted to her.
