MARGAO: Deepali Naik has been appointed as the chief officer of Margao Municipal Council. She has been given additional charge of the MMC in addition to her charge of Mormugao municipality. However, as she has been appointed as the Observer she may not take the charge of the MMC until the panchayat elections are over.
The important files of the MMC will be cleared by sending them to the Mormugao council office. When contacted, Deepali Naik said that she has briefed the present situation to MMC Chairperson Babita Angle.
TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai said that there are attempts being made to get a full time chief officer for the MMC. “There are two A-Grade officers we are thinking of appointing full time here at MMC,” Vijai said.
