MARGAO: Outgoing South Goa Additional Collector Deepali Naik on Tuesday took over the reigns of Margao Municipal administration as its Chief Officer.
She took charge of the civic body from Sandhya Kamat who has been transferred and posted as Additional Collector, South.
Soon after assuming office, Deepali said she would accord top priority to pre-monsoon works given the fast approaching monsoons. “We are almost mid-April now and I would ensure that the pre-monsoons works are completed before the onset of monsoons”, she said.
The new Chief Officer also disclosed plans to have a meeting with municipal staff and employees to tone-up the civic administration. “The municipality has recently recruited some employees and they will be posted in the right sections”, she said.
Replying to a question, she promised to devote attention to revenue recoveries after a meeting with the concerned section.
Deepali is the fourth Chief Officer to take over the Margao Municipal reigns in the last one year, drawing flak from city fathers over shuffling of officers, hampering development of the city.
