MARGAO: Margao Municipal Council (MMC) Chairperson Damodar Shirodkar said talks are underway with agencies to sort out the issue of non-functioning traffic signals in Fatorda.
Shirodkar added that the MMC already takes care of the electricity bills for the three signals. He added that handling the entire responsibility of the signals is a major financial liability for the cash-strapped civic body. Shirodkar also noted that MMC is not in possession of the electronic equipment for the lights.
He said that he had held a meeting with an agency that had put up the lights, and had assured to take care of their maintenance, and is also exploring other options for the same.
