Delayed forensics delay cases: CM

PANJIM: Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Thursday told the assembly that it is the delay in getting forensic reports of voice samples and handwriting analysis that are delaying cases being charge sheeted by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of the Vigilance department.

“The voice samples and handwriting samples need to be sent to the forensic lab in other states and as they give priority to their samples, our reports are delayed,” Parsekar said in the Assembly. He credited his government for appointing a full fledged SP, DySP and PIs.
Parsekar informed the house that in 2014- 15 seven traps were laid and public servants were caught accepting bribes and 10 other cases have been registered by ACB.
In 2014-15, ACB received 209 complaints of which 17 cases have been registered against public servants and five preliminary inquiries have been registered.
