PANJIM: All India Congress Committee (AICC) national spokesperson Dr Shama Mohamed on Wednesday charged the BJP and the AAP for demolishing a church in South Delhi without even serving a notice on them.
Dr Mohamed said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal lied to the Goans on church demolition in Delhi, she charged. She condemned Kejriwal for pleading innocence on the demolition of the religious place and hurting sentiments of lakhs of people.
Dr Mohamed disclosed that the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has two AAP MLAs Dilip Pandey and Somnathj Bharati, one BJP MLA O P Sharma and three BJP corporators as members. But they remained silent spectators for the illegal act of demolishing a religious structure, she said.
“We hold both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal responsible for the demolition,” she said terming it as completely illegal and insensitive act, she said.
Both BJP and AAP are two sides of the same coin and both of them spread hatred and encourage communal divide for their selfish political gains, Dr Mohamed said.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar also condemned the act of the BJP and AAP governments for demolishing the church in Delhi.
