PONDA: Kavlem residents have demanded that the dangerous accident prone turn at Kapileshwari located opposite Shree Kapileshwari Temple be widened immediatly.
Pandurang Naik, a resident stated that the area is an accident prone zone and demands to widen it have fallen on deaf ears.
The road leads to the Kavlem Shantadurga Temple besides it also reaches to five village Panchayats namely Kavlem, Bandora, Wadi Talavalim, Durbhat Adpoi beside Marcaim and there is frequent movement of vehicles here. “Unaware of the sharp turn ahead, speeding vehicles, often end up in fatalities,” said a local resident.
“The Shantadurga Temple in Kavlem Ponda attracts hordes of tourists, the road around the sharp turn needs to be widened and trees and bushes around the area need to be cut so that drivers get a clear view, stated another resident.
