VALPOI: The officials of the Land Survey Department, Panjim along with the Valpoi Joint Mamlatdar Sanjeevini Satardekar on Wednesday visited Shel Melauli and started the demarcation of the proposed land for the IIT project under police protection.
While carrying out the demarcation at the proposed IIT project site, Satardekar informed the villagers against interfering in their work since they were doing their duties.
Sartardekar said the villagers should hand over their queries in written to the officials and asked them not to take law into their hands.
Around 200 villagers, who had gathered at the site, requested the Joint Mamlatdar to solve their problems first and to later convene a special gram sabha on the proposed IIT project.
The villagers submitted a memorandum to the Joint Mamlatdar demanding that the IIT project be shifted out of Melauli.
Satardekar assured to forward their memorandum and queries to the higher authorities.
