MARGAO: The inauguration and demonstration of new rice de-husking machine was done at the hands of Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Kavlekar at the office of Nuvem MLA Wilfred D’Sa.
The machine, which is a brown rice cold milling device, will be helpful to the farmers cultivating paddy.
“The farmers of Nuvem areas and the Director of Agriculture are happy with the demo. We have called the minister especially as the cultivation is increasing in Goa and hence a scheme to give this machine to farmers has to be done,” the Nuvem MLA said.
“We have taken up the work of introducing the machine into Goa. New technologies have to be adopted to make sure the income of the farmers is doubled,” Kavlekar said adding that the income doubling won’t happen without improving the technology in agriculture.
