PANJIM: Revolutionary Goans (RG) slammed BJP for using government machinery against them after they were denied permission to hold a public meeting at Korgao, Pernem that was scheduled on Sunday.
RG Founder Manoj Parab also pointed out that soon after the declaration of their party’s political entry, Parab got a notice from the Collector, asking him to appear before the court on February 25 in an externment case.
“Looking at the complaints and harassment done by the BJP government, we are quite sure that we have made a big impact on Goa’s political arena. RG is the only opposition and they are trying hard to suppress our voices and stop this revolution,” said Parab.
He noted that this was yet another meeting that was denied by the Pernem Deputy Collector and claimed that this has been the case whenever RG has applied for permissions to hold public meetings across Goa in the last two months.
“This is the first time BJP is feeling the heat in North Goa as they fear losing their vote bank to RG. Today, the old opposition’s like the Congress, BJP, MGP and others look very weak and people have lost faith in their leaders, so now the majority of the Goans are looking for a better option. Goans of all ages and religions are joining RG in big numbers and this has created a great fear in the minds of all the political parties especially the BJP-led government,” said Parab.
