panjim: The Goa Dental College has accused one John Fernandes of misbehaving and abusing two dental interns in the government complex. However, the Agassaim Police have not registered the First Information Report (FIR) as the preliminary inquiry is being conducted.
The Dean of Goa Dental College and Hospital, Dr Ida de Ataide lodged a complaint with the Agassaim Police alleging that “a patient named John Fernandes from Dona Paula misbehaved with the interns.”
In the complaint filed on May 5, the incident took place on April 30 when Fernandes arrived at the hospital for his dental treatment.
The Dean said due to the COVID-19 guidelines, the hospital has started screening the patients, who come for treatment at the facility.
In her complaint, she said, “Around 10 am; John Fernandes walked into the college with some dental complaints. As per regulations, a detailed case history was being taken by two interns at the triage area. Fernandes felt that such history should not be taken from him, but as the interns insisted being the protocol, he started using filthy language and insulted them.
The Dean added that the patient’s behaviour was unacceptable and hurling abuses was an insult to the modesty of the interns.
