Investors complain of being duped for over Rs 8 cr; want fraudsters booked and money be recovered immediately

PANJIM: As many as 103 aggrieved investors of the Ashtagandha Urban Cooperative Credit Society, Assonora, on Monday submitted a memorandum to Economic Offence Cell (EOC) seeking action against the previous board of the society and its chairman for allegedly duping them of over Rs 8 crore.

The investors demanded that an FIR be registered immediately against the previous committee members and money be recovered from them.

The investors alleged that though an administrator has been appointed for the society by dissolving the managing committee but no action has been initiated against the committee except for serving notices.

“We have lodged a complaint and now we request the police to take action. An administrator has been appointed. But the administrator is only issuing notices for the last three months but further action has not been taken nor any complaint has been filed. The committee has been dissolved so it is clear that there was something wrong that is why the committee has been dissolved. Our request is that action be taken against those who have duped us of our hard earned money. We have lodged a joint complaint which has been signed by 103 investors,” one of the investors told mediapersons.
