Desecration accused remanded

CURCHOREM: Francis Xavier Pereira, the prime suspect in the desecration and vandalism of crosses, tombs and niches at Guardian Angel Church cemetery and crosses at various other places has been remanded in police custody for three days.

CURCHOREM: Francis Xavier Pereira, the prime suspect in the desecration and vandalism of crosses, tombs and niches at Guardian Angel Church cemetery and crosses at various other places has been remanded in police custody for three days. 
Curchorem police registered an offence against the accused for desecrating and vandalizing the religious places under Sections 295, 297 and 427 of Indian Panel code.
Meanwhile, police took the accused to Guardian Angel Church cemetery and asked him to repeat the act of how he committed the offence by breaking and desecrating the crosses, tombs and niches and how he managed to jump over the compound wall of the cemetery and run away when he saw the police.
