The roads in the Merces area are currently in a very poor state, with numerous potholes that are causing significant inconvenience to both commuters and pedestrians. The recent rainfall has aggravated the problem, making it even more challenging to anticipate the depth of these potholes.
Interestingly, just two months ago, the roads were dug up for cable installation, and while some patchwork was carried out afterwards, the roads quickly deteriorated, with the dug-up sections now starting to cave in. In light of these issues, residents are appealing to the authorities and their local MLA to address and repair the roads urgently. They also criticized him for switching political parties in the name of development.
“The entire village is plagued by these potholes. Our MLA claimed to have switched parties for the sake of development, but this is the kind of development we have received. The panchayat members do not seem responsive to our pleas. It appears they are attempting to deceive the people. While the roads were patched up previously, the rain has caused the potholes to resurface, making it extremely difficult for commuters, especially those on two-wheelers, to navigate this road. We hope they take immediate action to repair these roads,” voiced local resident Shiva More.
