MARGAO: The idol of Lord Ganesh worshipped at at the Pimpalkatta Sarvajanik Shree Ganapati Utsav and at the Margao police station Sarvajanik Ganapati were taken for immersion by hosting a grand visarjan, in the State’s commercial city on Saturday.
The unique visarjan attracts a large number of devotees who dance to the beat of drums on the road during the procession taken out to bid adieu Lord Ganesha on the eleventh day.
After a wait of two long years, the Salcete police also hosted a grand Visarjan of Lord Ganesha on Saturday with great pomp and gaiety.
The city geared up on Saturday for bidding adieu to Bappa, and police were deployed for ‘bandobast’ on Saturday evening.
Devotees flocked in large numbers to bid adieu as the idol of Lord Ganesha from Pimpal Katta and Margao police station were being taken out in a procession.
