PANJIM: Marine Engineer Devu Chodankar, who is caught up in the tussle over freedom of speech after he was booked for posting allegedly defamatory posts on Facebook will appear before the police on Monday at 11 am, his advocate disclosed Saturday.
“Being a law abiding citizen, he will extend all cooperation to the investigating authorities regarding this matter. He has complete faith in the Constitution of India and in the democratic principles ingrained therein and will abide by the same,” Adv Jatin Naik, Chodankar’s lawyer told reporters.
Devu is facing charges for what the police call ‘inciting communal passions’ and an FIR has been filed against him after a complaint was filed against him.
