Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee would be felicitated during inaugural of IFFI 2010, sources stated.
Directorate of Film Festival (DFF) has decided to honour Bajpayee for his contribution to new emerging cinema, officials said.
IFFI 2010 inauguration is likely to take place at the hands of Indian film industry’s legend Yash Chopra. Ajay Deugan, who recently shot in Goa during his Golmaal 3, will also be present for the inauguration.
Union Railway Minister Mamata Benerjee will also be present as the chief guest along with state Governor Dr S S Sidhu and chief minister Digamber Kamat.
“I am very happy and humbled by this decision. They selected me for my work that is yet more rewarding,” Bajpayee is quoted as saying in a website dedicated to Indian cinema.
He said that to be honored and facilitated in the presence of international film fraternity is definitely great.
“For me, as an actor, film making is a constant changing process. Indian cinema has come a long way and my contribution to it has brought me pleasure. As an artiste, I too, I have evolved along with it,” he added.
Bajpayee has played memorable roles in films like Bandit Queen, Satya, Shool, Aks, Pinjar and recent one is Raajneeti.
