PANJIM: Director General of Police (DGP) Jaspal Singh while commenting on the Deputy Superintendents of Police promotion matter said that the Police department will examine the matter and resolve the issues soon. He also assured of getting the posts regularised by following due process.
DGP Singh was speaking after presenting the Best Police Station award to Verna Police Station for the year 2022.
“We are not in receipt of the communication by the Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) with regards to the DySPs promotion issue. We will take necessary steps to regularise the posts as soon as we examine the matter,” he said.
“The contention is that the promotion is ad-hoc. We have only two methods of filling up of the DySP posts, which are departmental promotion or direct recruitment. The posts that are being spoken about by the Commission are the officiating promotions granted in January 2022. We will take necessary steps regularise the same,” he added.
It may be recalled that the term of the ad-hoc promotion of the 25 Police Inspectors who were officiated to the post of Deputy Superintendents of Police in January 2022 ended on December 31.
