DGP issues directions to ensure smooth flow of traffic at Cujira school complex

Goa Police will also write to the concerned authorities to deploy volunteers to assist the Traffic Police during peak hours

PANJIM: In view of major traffic congestion at Cujira with the new academic year’s commencement, Director General of Police Jaspal Singh on Friday issued a set of directions to ensure smooth flow of vehicular movement as well as safety of students walking into the school complex.  

“There were reports that consequent to the opening of the schools there is build-up of traffic around the complex. The staff has been directed to display signages and also make announcements for parents bringing their wards to schools, through loud hailers to follow the lane system and not try to create multiple lanes,” Singh said, who made a personal visit to the Cujira school complex to review the traffic arrangements along with senior officers of the Traffic Unit of Goa Police.

Goa Police will also write to the concerned authorities to deploy volunteers to assist the Traffic Police during peak hours. Similarly, the DGP asked the Deputy Superintendent of Traffic to write to the appropriate authorities to build a footpath for the students whereas parents are requested to follow the directions of the on-duty staff.
