Goa is a consumption centre for drugs, like many tourist locations where drugs are used for recreational purposes. There are no drug gangs or mafia operating in Goa, DGP Jaspal Singh claimed on Saturday. At first, he said Goa is a supply centre and then quickly changed his statement to a consumption centre.
He said the drugs found in Goa are of small quantity. The Goa Government is serious about fighting the drug menace and the focus is on youth, Singh told the media. Police are also creating awareness of drugs sent through courier services.
