Dharbandora ADEI office functions with lone staffer; irate parents demand action

PONDA: It seems there is desperate shortage of staff at the ADEI office in Dharbandora with a single employee forced to run the show here. Besides his office work, the official has to go for inspections to various schools in the taluka in his own vehicle. Irate parents have demanded that the authorities concerned to provide necessary facilities at the office here.

Various government offices have been opened in Dharbandora after it was declared as the 12th taluka a decade ago. The ADEI office near the Pilye PHC lacks staff and functions with one worker overstressing the officer. Late Niranjan Naik who was was appointed as the ADEI officer initially passed away after retiring a few months back and currently Sitaram Naik has been appointed to the post.

There are 50 schools in the taluka and since it is a rural area, ADEI has to conduct regular inspections here. This year, two primary schools are almost shut down while five more are on the verge of closure too.

“The government should provide the required staff and workers before opening offices here. The government needs to provide necessary facilities to ADEI officers so that better services are rendered to the public,” said Dharbandora’s sarpanch Balaji alias Vinayak Gawas.
