PONDA: A 59-year-old resident of Morjim died, while two others were injured when the car in which they were travelling crashed into a roadside tree at Melka-Mollem on Friday evening.
According to police, the accident occurred at about 4.15 pm when Madhu Shetgaonkar, who was residing at Pilliem-Dharbandora, was travelling in his car from Mollem to Dharbandora, dashed against the roadside tree.
Police said seriously injured Shetgaonkar died on the way to PHC Pilliem-Dharbandora.
Car driver Nilu Gawas (41) of Pilliem-Dharbandora and his wife Suchita (31) were also injured in the accident and were moved to the PHC and later referred to GMC.
