The residents of Dhargal have demanded the urgent construction of a flyover at the notorious Don Khamb intersection. The locals have raised concerns about the persistently chaotic traffic situation at the junction, emphasizing the need for a flyover to ease congestion and enhance road safety.
Expressing their frustration, the residents have directed their appeal to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, urging him to address the issue promptly. A delegation from Dhargal has set a deadline of March 1 for the government to provide a concrete plan for the construction of the much-needed flyover. Failing to meet this deadline, the locals have declared their intention to abstain from voting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as a mark of protest.
The Don Khamb intersection has long been a bottleneck, causing traffic snarls and posing risks to commuters. Residents argue that the absence of a flyover exacerbates the situation, leading to delays and safety hazards. The demand for a flyover is not only seen as a necessity for smoother traffic flow but also as a vital step towards ensuring the well-being and safety of the community.
A local resident said, “We have waited patiently for a resolution to the traffic issues at Don Khamb, but the situation continues to worsen. We now implore Chief Minister Sawant to take immediate action and initiate the construction of a flyover. We have set a deadline of March 1, and if our concerns are not addressed by then, we will have no choice but to abstain from voting in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls to express our discontent.”
The call for urgent action has garnered support from various sections of the community, with residents emphasizing that the construction of the flyover is not only a matter of convenience but a crucial step towards ensuring the safety and well-being of the people of Dhargal.
