PERNEM: The Pernem Police have arrested a 28-year-old Dhargalim resident for allegedly assaulting a person hailing from the same localitya. The accused has been identified as Aniket Salgaonkar.
According to the police, Shailesh Salgaonkar from Chichola, Dhargalim, lodged a complaint that near Government Primary School, the accused abused and assaulted him and his brother with a sharp weapon.
He also threatened the complainant’s brother with dire consequences and even threatened to kill him on May 7.
An offence under sections 504, 324 and 506 (ii) of IPC and sections 25 and 27 of Arms Act 1959 has been registered. The case is being investigated by PSI N Gotlekar.
