PANJIM: A dhirio lover from Laxette, Varca is battling for his life after a bull pierced his horn into his stomach.
The incident occurred three days ago when the man identified as Francisco Fernandes alias Zozhi had gone to feed the bull. Zozhi was rearing cattle and goats and was an ardent supporter of ‘Dhirios’.
After he was injured, he was taken to private hospital at Margao where he is battling for his life.
Fernandes informed about his tragedy in two audio messages on social media especially to those organising bullfights. Posting his photograph on the hospital bed, he says that he has been badly injured by a bull and that his intestine has been damaged. He is also requesting his family members to look after his aged father, who is learnt to be a freedom fighter.
However, no police complaint has been filed as the victim is admitted in a private hospital. When contacted, the Colva Police said that no such complaint has been filed even as the police are aware of the incident.
