DHS recruits staff for pandemic services

PANJIM: Directorate of Health Services has recruited 25 AYUSH doctors, 140 staff nurses and other manpower following a surge in COVID-19 cases in the State.

Health Services Director Dr Jose D’Sa on Thursday said that the government had so far recruited 25 AYUSH doctors, 140 each staff nurses and multi-tasking staff and 25 laboratory technicians in the South Goa District Hospital, Margao and at the COVID Care Centres.

D’Sa said that the government will also recruit 15 MSc microbiologists shortly as the interviews of aspiring candidates were completed.

The government had advertised for posts of 25 medical officers and 140 staff nurses and para-medical staff on contract basis for a period of six months for COVID-19 management at the South Goa District Hospital. A large number of young trained nurses had appeared for walk-in interviews and braced up to work in COVID Hospitals.
