Did CM cause Rs 207 crore loss to Goa by amending GMR concessionaire agreement?

PORVORIM: Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardessai accused CM Pramod Sawant of being the first chief minister to cause a loss of Rs 207 crore to Goa exchequer on Mopa airport by amending the Concessionaire Agreement with GMR, through a cabinet decision and postponing the 36.99% revenue which was due to state in May 2024, to be paid by them to Goa Govt to 7 Dec 2024. The issue was raised during Question Hour on Monday.
Sardesai said this was done due to only 20 days of Covid as cited in the reply of the CM to his Starred Question. CM could not spell out the revenue Goa would get from GMR except for citing the percentage.
Vijai Sardesai says the government does not know the gross revenue of GMR, does not know what revenue we will get and the loss to the exchequer. Coughing up the figures Sardesai said GMR has stated to its borrowers that its gross revenue would be Rs 960 crore for 2024-25, and hence the loss to exchequer would be Rs 207 crore.
MLA Vijai and Carlos also said and CM admitted that GMR had so far not created the green belt around it as per Supreme Court Guidelines.
