Differently-abled beneficiary seeks friend’s help to travel to Curtorim

MARGAO: The differently-abled beneficiary from Assolna has asked for help from his friend to travel to Curtorim so that he reaches the venue on time.

The close family members of the beneficiary informed O Heraldo that on Sunday, a friend has been requested by the beneficiary to take him to the venue on bike.

Sources informed that the beneficiary has been called at South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha’s residence in Curtorim and has been asked to reach by 9 am.

It may be recalled that the Francisco Sardinha had refused to hand over the three-wheeler bike to the beneficiary.

The reason cited was for arriving late at the venue on Thursday. However, taking serious note of the incident, several political leaders, social activists and those working for the differently-abled community have condemned the MP’s act.

Meanwhile, sources informed that Congress leader Girish Chodankar visited the beneficiary’s house following news reports, which went viral and tendered the apology on the party’s behalf.
