Digambar appears in court; furnishes bond of Rs 20,000

MARGAO: Former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat on Monday furnished a personal bond of Rs 20,000 before the Additional Sessions Judge II after he appeared for the first time before the court, hearing the case filed by the Special Investigation Team against him regarding the mining scam.
The matter is now fixed for April 27.
Digambar dismissed Monday’s procedure as a routine matter, where he was asked to furnish a personal bond to assure his presence in the court for subsequent hearings. 
The former power minister had to sit in the court that had no power supply for over an hour and power was restored only at around 3:40 pm when he stepped into the enclosure marked for the accused.
Digambar was represented by Surendra Dessai, while Prafulla Hede, the first accused in the matter was represented by Yogesh Nadkarni
