Several houses, residential complexes, offices and commercial establishments suffered the abrupt power failure creating serious discomfort as the summer season picks up. Though the temperature was recorded at 33 degree Celsius, the humidity level was high.
Chief Electrical Engineer Lekshmanan S assured restoration of power supply by Wednesday night. “The power failure was due to digging work. It damaged the underground cable. But we restored the power supply and the complete work will be done by night,” he said assuring there won’t be any complaints on Thursday.
Meanwhile, some parts of the State witnessed light rainfall with Goa Meteorological Centre forecasting thunderstorm or rainfall for the next two days. The weather change brought respite from the blistering heat as the temperature dipped to 26 degree Celsius by Wednesday evening, which is expected to continue till March 31. However, the temperature during the day will continue to remain at 33 degree Celsius.
