Moreover, on the industrial front with a belief that employment saved also equals employment created, government intends to aid sick units in need of revitalization to protect the employment already created in the State.
“Hence it is proposed to freeze the existing liabilities of such units and give certain concessions and incentives in order to give them fiscal space to restart and run their operations,” Parsekar said.
The budget also proposes to replace the street lights in the entire State with LED bulbs, beginning with municipal areas. The chief minister said that there would be an investment of around Rs 1,500 crore on electricity infrastructure in the next two-three years.
The Government in its budget revised annual recurring license fee structure on casinos. Offshore casinos will have to pay according to the vessel capacity with a casino having capacity of up to 100 persons having to pay Rs 7 crore per annum as against Rs 6 crore. Casinos accommodating above 100 and up to 200 persons would be charged Rs 7.50 crore, and those having capacity above 200 and up to 400 persons the fees would be Rs 8.50 crore and those above 400 passengers would have to pay Rs 9.00 crore.
