PANJIM: All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and Goa desk in-charge Digvijay Singh slammed the party leadership in Goa and stated that an alliance with Goa Forward was sabotaged by its own leaders.
In a series of tweets, Singh indirectly hinted at GPPC President Luizinho Faleiro as being responsible for not making a deal with Goa Forward prior to the polls.
“Our alliance with Babush went through and we won three out of five but our alliance with Goa Forward was sabotaged by our own leaders. Sad!” Singh tweeted on Friday.
Another tweet said, “Goa Forward won three out of four they contested. Had our alliance with Goa Forward gone through we would have been 22.”
However, Faleiro, speaking to the media in Panjim on Friday indirectly accused Singh for delaying the entire process after the counting of votes. “Yes, definitely the process was delayed. But I don’t want to name any one or blame,” Faleiro replied when asked if Singh delayed the process.
The trail of tweets also takes on Vishwajit Rane who resigned as MLA and Congressman a few hours after the floor test on Thursday. “Vishwajit was having coffee with Parrikar in a hotel when we were choosing CLP leader,” Singh tweeted.
In another tweet he admired Pratapsingh Rane who supported the expulsion of his son from Congress. Singh also said, “When I took charge of Goa in 2013 only 6 out of 9 were active”. “Even Congress leaders were predicting 2-2 seats for Congress,” he said.
He alleged that Manohar Parrikar’s swearing in was attended by casino, hotel and mine owners at which Vishwajit was also spotted.
