MARGAO: District Collector N D Agrawal on Monday said he has told the police to investigate into the allegations made by the parents that the school headmistress tried to destroy evidence in the Vasco girl rape case.
Agrawal had a meeting with representatives of the parents and the school management in the Collectorate on Wednesday.
Incidentally, the district Collector is of the opinion that representatives of the school management who have come under a cloud of suspicion should stay away from of Vasco school to ensure a free and fair inquiry.
He said the delegation of parents have demanded that the headmistress should not attend the school in the interest of free and fair inquiry.
Replying to a question, Agrawal said the management has promised to provide CCTV facility and repair the broken compound wall at the earliest. Thee management has also agreed to shift the office from the second floor to ground floor.
