PANJIM: With over 2073 candidates applying for 142 posts of government primary school teachers, the Directorate of Education (DoE) has asked all candidates to provide proof of education qualification at the time of answering the examination, scheduled on Saturday, December 17.
Addressing media persons on Wednesday, Director Education Shailesh Zingde informed that the essential qualification for applying for the post of teachers was Class XII pass certificate along with Diploma in Education (DEd) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EL.Ed) or Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. El. Ed).
He said that 383 candidates in their application have submitted their qualification as B.Bl.Ed. “This course is not offered in Goa. However, the candidates have given names of colleges within State, which do not offer this course,” Zingde said.
He said that it is important to cross check the certificates before they are allowed to answer the examination. “Hence, the candidates are asked to produce call letter, identity proof and education qualification certificate at the time of answering examination, failing which they will not be allowed to answer,” he said.
