“Once the ropeway is built, people can reach from MPT cruise berth to Dona Paula in just 15 minutes,” he said.
He also informed that he had a discussion with MP Vinay Tendulkar and AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik about expansion of cruise terminal.
Later, admitting that he had a discussion with Mandaviya on various issues, Shripad Naik said that during his tenure as a tourism minister, he had allocated Rs 14 crore for the cruise terminal.
Meanwhile, he opined that the after mining closure in Goa, the activities in the port have suffered. “There are around 4,500 pensioners who are dependent on MPT. Therefore, the port activities should increase. Coal pollution issue also needs to be addressed and solution needs to be found,” he added.
