MARGAO: Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat urged the public to stay vigilant and not let the drug mafia hijack rich traditions and culture during Shigmo and Holi.
“My appeal to fellow Goans – let us remain vigilant on use of drugs during the festival. Please remain vigilant in our own interest and in the interest of generations to come. Let us not allow anti-social elements and drug mafia to hijack our rich traditions and culture. The dark clouds of ‘Goa going dry are’ hovering over Goa. If our lifeline Mhadei is diverted, the entire State will get converted into a desert. We will starve for every drop of water. As we celebrate Rangpanchami, let us all remember the importance of water. Let us not waste a single drop of water. Conservation of water is the need of the hour. Let us start from today and set an example for the generations to come,” said Kamat.
