“Constituency specific charge sheet by a Congress block is hitherto unheard of. Even in neighbouring places like Nuvem, Cuncolim, Cortalim or Navelim such a chargesheet hasn’t been released. It appears the Congress block is more keen on fighting me than to expose the BJP,” said Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai.
Vijai said that the indictment “is an attempt by a bunch of failed Fatorda politicians to espouse the BJPs dream of divide and rule in Fatorda. The fact that the charge sheet very prominently gives a clean chit to ex-MLA Damu Naik whilst targeting me and not the BJP government indicates that it has been drafted at the Fatorda Congress block’s high command which is Damu Naik’s residence.”
“People of Fatorda have not only endorsed me in 2012 but also in the 2015 Municipal polls when all my candidates won in all 11 wards of Fatorda constituency,” he said.
“So, I don’t need certificates from failed politicians who lost after working hard against my panel either on their own or in collusion with the BJP,” he said.
