The exit of Texeira happened after she was given the option of resigning graciously or face No confidence motion. He resigned herself on Friday.
Kamat said, “I had discussed the matter with Dorris and have taken this collective decision to step down as we didn’t have the numbers.”
“We had come together in the interest of Margao town and had fought the election together. Now may be they are facing pressures as they are in Government,” Kamat said.
When asked whether this will affect his political ambitions in Margao, he said, “The effect will be seen in next election. As far as I know Madgaonkaars have shown their verdict to me for the last 7 terms.”
