MARGAO: ‘Doryadhar’, Marcos Gonsalves’ book of essays in Konkani, has bagged Dalgado Konknni Akademi’s (DKA) Book of the Year Award 2015, for which entries were invited recently. The award was cash of Rs 20,000, besides a memento and citation.
Gonsalves is a young Konkani writer, who is fluent in the Romi and Devanagari scripts and was written several books. He is the recipient of literary awards instituted by the Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Goa Konkani Akademi, Thomas Stephens Konknni Kendr and other organisations. A journalist by profession, he has highlighted many problems affecting the society.
Gonsalves is associated with many Konkani institutions and is a noted artiste as well. His books include ‘Zoglam’, ‘Songhorx’, ‘Thembea-Thembeant’, ‘Sruxtti’, ‘Konnsam’ and ‘Kristanvancho Zagor’. He has also presented literary programmes on All India Radio, Panjim.
